This Apple Cider Vinegar Drink that I'm calling a "Twister" is an extremely refreshing probiotic drink for the morning or evening! With real fruit juice, sparkling water, a squeeze of lemon and fresh herbs. Apple cider vinegar has what seems like an infinity of health benefits, and mixing it with the right ingredients makes the pungent taste disappear!
This recipe for drinking apple cider vinegar has made it so easy to substitute it for our typical evening cocktail and has boosted my energy and lowered my cravings (speaking from personal experience). It has similar added ingredients to a cocktail, plus by adding garnishes serving it in a special glass elevates it and makes it that much more special. The only thing it lacks is the icky feeling that a cocktail gives you the next day ;).
To add to the good feeling, serve it with these tropical fish skewers that go with the tropical and healthy vibes of this feel good drink.
Once you get a good handle on this recipe, you can easily substitute some of the ingredients for others and make it your own.
ACV is a powerhouse ingredient for overall health. There are endless benefits to Apple Cider Vinegar from gut health, decrease bloating, improve digestion, lower blood sugar, lowering cholesterol, strengthen the immune system, aiding weight loss, and the list goes on and on. Seriously, it's a powerhouse. But, with all that being said, my little disclaimer is to watch for side effects and consume with care.

Recipe Ingredients and Substitutes
Apple cider vinegar - First off, the number one rule in buying acv is making sure it's organic, raw and unfiltered with the mother. The mother is the live bacteria goop that's inside the bottle. It's a good thing, actually a great thing, so get past the weirdness of it :). My favorite brands are Fairchild or the 365 by Whole Foods.
100% Real fruit juice - I use Pineapple juice, Tart cherry juice, or another fruit juice with added health benefits. Alternatively, if you'd like to avoid fruit juice altogether, you can substitute it for flavored sparkling water with no sugar added. Or, more lemon juice and fresh herbs.
Sparkling water - I use Topo chico (my link is for amazon for convenience, but Costco has them for a good price), Perrier, San Pellegrino, or any flavored sparkling water I have on hand. Pineapple, lemon, lime or mango sparkling water flavors go great with it. I avoid any brands with fake sweeteners. Afterall, that goes
Agave syrup - I use agave, or maple syrup. Agave has less flavor which I like in this style drink. I don't use sugar, since that's bad for your gut, and does the opposite of what this drink is intended to be good for. You can do without a sweetener, but these two options have a low glycemic index, and won't spike blood sugar, making them the best options for a little sweetness.
Additions - Fresh squeezed lemon, fresh mint sprigs, fresh berries (optional). These are the special touches that take it up a notch to feel more special. I use them to elevate the drink and make it just as fancy as a regular cocktail, but without the icky feeling the next day.
