    HOW TO TRANSPORT

Place a large piece of fruit or a ball made of foil, around the edges of the board and cover it securely with plastic wrap.

If possible, place in a box in your car to avoid it moving around.

If any little damage is done to the board while transporting, you can try to fix it or call it "rustic" :).

HOW TO MAKE A SWEET BUTTER BOARD

You can absolutely create a sweet butter board recipe! Whip shelf stable butter with powdered sugar, then smear it in the board. It will be similar to a buttercream frosting, so instead of bread, go for cookies and cupcakes to dip it in.

A buttercream frosting board is great for brunch or for kids!

    TOP TIPS FOR THIS RECIPE

    1. Have fun with it. Decorate it to suite your event!

    2. If you're not fond of figs and berries, add other fruit or dollops of jam.

    3. Marble Charcuterie Board. Using a marble board is easier to clean up and brings out the elevated factor in this butter board recipe.

    INGREDIENT NOTES

    • Salted Butter. Using salted butter brings out so much great flavor in everything added. But if you prefer less salt, go for unsalted butter and sprinkle on course salt to finish.

    • Spicy Honey. I absolutely love spicy honey, especially on butter boards and charcuterie. I got mine from Trader Joes, and I'm always stocked up! There are so many great ways to use it besides on bread and butter. I love it in marinades.

    • Honey. Add a layer of regular honey to add much needed sweetness without a kick. Add more or less than spicy honey, or forgo it completely if your crowd can tolerate some heat.

    • Fresh Rosemary. Rosemary and bread just go together for me. So, rosemary and butter was the perfect touch. Substitute: If you can't find fresh rosemary, try fresh thyme or sprinkle a light layer of dried rosemary.

    • Fresh Figs. Figs are gorgeous, especially sliced and place delicately around a butter board! If you can't find fresh figs in your store, go for dollops of fig jam throughout the board. Substitute: Fresh figs for fig jam.

    • Your Favorite Berry. I used fresh harvested huckleberries from our backyard, however, my second option would be blackberries. They add a depth of color and go great with the flavor profiles.

    • Salt to top. Course or Himalayan Pink Salt are great options for adding another element and layer. With using salted butter, you won't need much, so a light sprinkle will do.

    EQUIPMENT & SPECIAL INGREDIENTS

Marble Charcuterie Board. Using a marble block is easier to clean up and brings out the elevated factor in this butter board recipe.

    Butter Knife.

HOW TO MAKE A BUTTER BOARD

Butter Board instructions couldn't be easier and fun, for that matter. Simply clean the board, then start with smoothing out the butter, and top with your our preferred ingredients, like fresh figs, rosemary and berries. Follow these steps to learn more!

    • Wash the board and pat it dry. Place the butter on the board, and using a butter knife start smoothing it out leaving about 2 inches on the edges. Make this as smooth or rustic as you'd like.

    • Drizzle a thin layer of spicy honey on top of the butter. Then, another layer of regular honey.

    • Place fig pieces throughout the butter board, then sprinkle berries around. Place bigger sprigs of rosemary along the edges and tear smaller pieces to sprinkle throughout. Top with coarse salt and serve with fresh bread.

    HOW TO SERVE THIS

To serve, you will need fresh bread and a butter knife.

Using a butter knife keeps this masterpiece looking decent as everyone is digging it.

What bread to serve? This Butter board recipe goes great with most artisan or fresh baked bread, though it went amazing with my Rosemary Parmesan Bread. It's a super easy no-knead bread recipe that requires little effort. The rosemary and parmesan flavors worked great with fig, honey and butter!

Other options are baguette, French bread or any artisan loaf.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH THIS RECIPE

    • Side Dish: Try this Fried Feta and Strawberry Salad, it's bright, crunchy and delicious!

    • Drink: Pair this recipe with this Spicy Mango Margarita or Fresh Huckleberry Margarita, or a Mimosa! Cheers!
