Snacking doesn't have to be unhealthy or boring! These are the three healthiest shelf-stable snacks that I have in my bag regularly, that I wish everyone did too.
Here are my snacking rules: they have to be healthy (little to no seed oils, without lots of sugar, DF, GF), easy to purchase, and affordable to purchase in bulk. Because I believe in buying more than you need, you can surround yourself with good-for-you snacks that make it easier to grab and go.
If I have a few minutes to spare the day before an event, I like to make a homemade snack to take with us as well, like this Tahini banana bread that's filled with ingredients to nourish us.

Tips For Snacking Like A Pro
Is there a snacking rule? Why..Yes there is. First, you want to eat the fats, the olives. Second, fill your body with good protein. Then, have the granola bar last.
For the past 6 years, we've learned so much more about keto. It's essential for brain health. Now, even if you're not keto, it's important to eat your food in order for optimal health.

#1. To-Go Olives
These are by far the most purchased healthy snack at our house. My entire family loves them, and we pack them wherever we go. Several stores carry their own brands, as well as several flavors. Over the last few years, we've tried almost every brand, but we love this Mario brand, that offers a fun variety pack that keeps snacking fun. We also buy the green olive packs from Trader Joes by the boxes!

#2. Meat Sticks or Salmon Jerky
Protein is essential. Good protein is even more critical. We take meat sticks with us absolutely everywhere. They're a good, clean protein source that's shelf-stable, which we need for most of our outings.
Over the years, we've tried and liked Chomps and Paleo Valley grass-fed beef sticks. Salmon jerky is an excellent clean protein snack for pescatarians.

#3. Granola Bars
My current go to granola bars are Rx bars and Go Macro bars.
Why I like RX bars: They are made with real ingredients, such as dates to sweeten them and eggs for protein. They never cause me stomach discomfort from all the added fake ingredients. I buy them on Amazon and add them to my monthly or bi-monthly subscriptions, or buy at Costco when they're on sale there.
Why I like GoMacro bars: They carry a ton of great flavors when I want a change. They have more ingredients added than Rx bars, but they're the next best bar for all the flavors they offer. My favorite flavors are the mint and the dark chocolate almond.
You can also purchase them at most grocery stores, but I like to add them to my monthly Amazon subscription for a better deal.
