It's incredibly easy to make Blueberry vodka for a quick cocktail, or two, or five! With just a few ingredients and about 5 minutes or prep work, you'll be one step closer to an absolutely delicious blueberry liqueur!

homemade blueberry vodka in a mason jar

This blueberry infused vodka is one of the easiest things to make to elevate your cocktails all year-around! Plus it's so much tastier than store-bought.

Use it in this blueberry lemon drop martini, on the rocks, or sweeten it with simple syrup and enjoy it neat in colder months.

And, if you have extra berries on hand make this blueberry gin and tonic cocktail, or blueberry toast that I'm absolutely in love with.

    THE BEST VODKA FOR INFUSING

You're in luck because just about any vodka is good for infusing. I would recommend one you regularly drink that's mid-level, avoid expensive or super cheap vodka.

The flavoring you're adding in won't infuse it to the point of being better, so you're going to want to start out with a decent bottle.

Tito's is a good option, and the Costco Kirkland vodka is a great choice.

HOW LONG SHOULD YOU INFUSE VODKA FOR?

Though the prepping process takes less than 5 minutes, waiting for the vodka to infuse takes a few weeks. Typically around 2-3 weeks is a good amount of time to infuse it, but I like to leave it in there for about 4 weeks to get the most flavor.

You can start sampling the blueberry vodka at the 2 week mark. Just be careful not to get carried away ;).

    HOW TO MAKE BLUEBERRY VODKA

    Ingredients and What You'll Need

    • Your favorite vodka. Choose a mid-shelf bottle for best flavor.
    • Fresh blueberries. Fresh is best to work with so they don't add extra liquid from the freezing process. Clean them well then let them dry before using them to infuse alcohol.
    • You'll also need a mason jar with a lid, or a bottle with a lid that has a fairly large lip so that the blueberries can easily come in and out of.

    Instructions On Making Infused Vodka

    • Pour the vodka and close the jar lid.

    • Store for 2-3 weeks at room temperature, preferably in a dark location.
    • Start tasting at the 2 week mark for potency. I prefer to leave it the full 3 weeks for max flavor, but some berries are more ripe than others and may take less time. But this is also depending on your preference for how strong of a flavor you'd like. I recommend to get the most flavor in!
    • After 3 weeks, or once it's reached your desired taste, strain through a mesh strainer, or a coffee filter. Pour the Blueberry Vodka into a bottle.

    FAQ

    Is blueberry vodka sweet?

No. Blueberry vodka whether homemade or purchase is not originally sweet. It's used for enhancing the blueberry flavor in cocktails and drinks. Though if you're drinking it plain, add simple syrup or sparkling water to make it more palatable.

What does blueberry vodka taste like?

It taste exactly like a hard blueberry liqueur but without any added sugar. It's especially good in lemonades or when added to other drinks to give it a fruity hard alcohol kick.

Can I use the infused blueberries in cooking or desserts?

Yes! Use the blueberries that are strained once the infusing process is done to enjoy in other recipes. Make boozy cookies, cupcakes, top to ice cream, make a boozy compote, or add them to drinks as garnish!

WHAT CAN I MAKE WITH BLUEBERRY INFUSED VODKA?

Whether enjoyed on blueberry vodka on it's own or mixed, it adds a burst of flavor to your drink repertoire! It's perfect for sunny gatherings and relaxed evenings. It's definitely one to keep on hand, or to gift!

    • Elevate classic cocktails.
    • Blueberry Lemon Drop. A delicious and refreshing drink!
    • Blueberry Breeze. Add coconut water, vodka, and lime juice.
    • Add to sparkling water for a skinny cocktail.

WHAT IS GOOD TO INFUSE IN VODKA?

Besides blueberries, you can infuse vodka with just about any fruit, floral, citrus, or spice! Here's my pick for the best options:

    • Strawberries
    • Raspberries
    • Vanilla Beans
    • Coffee Beans
    • Lemon
    • Lime
    • Cinnamon Sticks
    • Pumpkin Spice Mix
    • Or get creative and make your own concoction like cinnamon coffee, or strawberry and lemon!
